ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER:

Since early childhood I've been exploring natural areas in search of something beautiful nature has hidden for me. It started with family camping trips to Vermont, which led to exploration of the neighboring States. But it was also tedious trying to make people appreciate the beauty I was trying to describe to them afterward.

That all changed when my family pooled resources to get me a used Leica R4 as a college graduation present. A few months later I found myself driving the Highways of Northern New Hampshire alone during the peak of foliage with my camera and a few rolls of Kodachrome 64. Hours flew by like minutes as I stopped incessantly to photograph every reflection, red leaf or just mist on the water. It was a transformational and almost magical experience. Although I barely understood the working of my camera, I was thrilled with the shots I had taken and there was no turning back. I was hooked.

I have long since traded in my Leica R for a Canon EOS 5D and my Journeys have taken me to Alaska, Australia, and over 20 National Parks. I've clung to unstable slopes, been cold, wet, sunburned and feasted upon by biting insects- and loved every minute of it. I tell people that I am enjoying God's "Easter-egg hunt". My personal mission is capture -and at the same time pay tribute to- the beauty of our World. Sharing it with you is an added bonus.

I hope my pictures can make you feel even a small sense of what I felt taking them.

Thanks for looking,
Greg Wagner
